Mitsubishi Eclipse (95-99) Performance Parts

Mitsubishi launched the second-generation Eclipse (2G DSM) in 1995. Power was increased in all trims of the two-door coupe: the naturally-aspirated 2-L, DOHC I4 was rated at 140 hp, while the turbocharged engine with the same layout and displacement produced 210 hp. All trims came equipped with a five-speed manual and could be fitted with a four-speed automatic. Trim levels included RS, GS, GST, and GSX. The GSX trim offered all-wheel drive; the other came with front-wheel drive only. These specs remained the same through the 1999 model year for the coupe version of the Mitsubishi Eclipse. In 1996, Mitsubishi added a convertible to the Eclipse line, the Spyder. It was available in two trims: the GS and the GST. Both were front-wheel drive, and both offered a the same transmission options as the coupe. The GS's powerplant was a naturally aspirated 141-hp, 2.4-L SOHC engine; the GST's 2-L turbocharged DOHC was rated at 210 hp. Like the coupe, the convertible received only minor updates during model years 1997 through 1999.
