VW Beetle Performance Parts
Named Motor Trend's "Import Car of the Year" for 1999, the Volkswagen New Beetle was not your father's (or grandfather's) VW Beetle. While the new Beetle paid homage to the exterior design of the original Beetle, there were many changes to bring the popular car up to modern standards. The engine was moved to the front, and a full range of safety, performance, and fuel economy features were added. Here at Custom Cars Central, we have all the VW Beetle performance parts you need when working on this modern incarnation of an old classic.

Engines options in the first generation of the VW Beetle included a 2-L inline-4, a 2.5-L 150-hp inline-5, and a 1.8-L turbo inline-4. In mid-2003, a soft-top body style was released. In addition, from 2001 to 2003, Volkswagen also produced a limited-run Beetle RSi that included a 221 hp, 3.2-L VR6 engine, a six-speed transmission, and VW's four-wheel drive system 4motion. Aiming for the racing enthusiast market, the RSi was geared for the race track with such features as a rear diffuser, large rear wing, and Superturismo wheels with 235/40ZR-18 tires, all intended to maximize the VW Beetle's performance. Parts and accessories for all models in the VW Beetle line can be found in our catalog.
